Ambitious Girls, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit that is recognized for their Girls G.R.O.W platform as a National Promising Practice organization by the Character Education Partnership in Washington, D.C.

Ambitious Girls, Inc. is most known for their annual signature event “Ambitious Girl Arena”
conference that has served over 1000 adolescent and teen girls in Arkansas, Texas, and Maryland. Over the past 10 years, 98% of the girls expressed an interest in returning to the conference and a total of 65% returned to attend and be involved in other Ambitious Girls, Inc. programs and initiatives.

Our mission is to help girls to be full of themselves in terms of love, esteem, worth, confidence, while instilling in them to live a life of purpose.

Who we are...

Ambitious Girls, Inc. was founded January 2009 by Akissi Brooks. This organization was formed from her “BE Smart! BE Safe! BE Responsible!” platform and teen conference, which pertained to the importance of education, and prevention of juvenile delinquency, teen domestic violence and pregnancy.

Ambitious Girls, Inc. was founded January 2009 by Akissi N. Brooks. This organization was formed from her “BE Smart! BE Safe! BE Responsible!” platform and teen conference, which pertained to the importance of education, and prevention of juvenile delinquency, teen domestic violence and pregnancy.

Akissi was inspired to start the Girls G.R.O.W program, which started out with 6 girls that she met with monthly at local libraries. The programs focus was mentoring, service, leadership and scholarships

Akissi is an International Speaker who is passionate about helping people GROW! She has served as a speaker, presenter and panelist at conferences and events such as the International Business Retreat in South Africa and Paris-France, the National Association for Blacks in Criminal Justice in Phoenix, Arizona, and Tampa, Florida, as well as The African Women’s Health Project International “Youth Walk for Africa Press Conference”.
